Ming-Che Shih is a Distinguished Research Fellow and Director of the Agricultural Biotechnology Research Center, Academia Sinica in Taiwan. He received his Ph.D. degree from University of Iowa in 1983 and was postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Genetics, Harvard Medical School and Department of Molecular Biology, Massachusetts General Hospital between 1984-1988. He was a faculty member at the Biology Department, University of Iowa between 1988-2009 and the Director of Center for Comparative Genomics at University of Iowa between 2005-2007. He returned to Taiwan in 2008 to take the current position. His research interests include plant responses to abiotic and biotic stresses, application of genomics, proteomics and metabolomics in research in agricultural biotechnology.
